Dear Dancing Friends,

Imagine greeting each new day with a blazing sunrise at sea. Feel the breeze, savor the moment. No rush hour! No agenda! No commute! Just a week basking on the stunning beaches, exploring villages, and experiencing new adventures. Welcome to Avant Garde’s Cruise in Style 2018.

We cordially invite you and your friends to join us during the week of April 7-15, 2018 as we escape the cold, wintry weather and head for sunny Caribbean. Sailing from Miami, this fantastic 8-day cruise travels to some of the most beautiful ports in Southern Caribbean. Enjoy this fun-in-the-sun vacation with us as it will provide a lifetime supply of fabulous memories as we discover the ABC Islands.

Picture the magnificent cruise ship Equinox, a floating five-star hotel and one of the newest marvel of the Celebrity Cruise ships. It is big, it is bold with stunning multi-million dollar investment on its art pieces. Two outdoor pools, a spacious indoor pool, fabulous health spa, Dance Clubs, theatres, ship-wide casino, duty-free shopping mall, huge all-day dining room of delectable dishes, and specialty restaurants to satisfy different palates.

There is no shortage of entertainment onboard Equinox – big production shows, comedians, magicians, music, and dance. You’re sure to find your kind of music in the many clubs and lounges along the ship’s main boulevard. At the Martini Bar, you might even see a spectacular show involving bottle-flipping, glass-stacking, and the pouring of dozens of drinks at once. During the day time, there are pool-side games and sports courts that regularly host basketball shoot-outs. Enrichment options include wine & spirits tasting, cake-decorating, sushi-making and other culinary demonstrations, as well as digital camera and computer seminars. But don’t let the comfort and excitement onboard keep you from going ashore.

Exciting News! A second studio has come onboard!

Elegant Dancing will be joining us this year! More dancing, more socializing, more fun!

Getting to know

Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao

Been there done that in the Caribbean? You could go snorkeling again at Watermelon Cay or zip line through St. Lucia’s rainforest. But if you’re more into island hopping, consider the ABC Islands, the 3 most western islands of the Leeward Antilles.

Aruba is self-governing and autonomous, but Bonaire and Curacao are governed by the Kingdom of the Netherlands. All 3 are the recipients of the undivided attention of the Netherlands, which means you’ll be in for a treat no matter which island you choose.

Aruba, the glamorous older sister of the other 2 islands, is a busy port of call that attracts more than 1 million visitors a year. It’s a beach destination, but you’ll also find world-class resorts, gambling, shopping and some of the finest dining in the Caribbean. Aruba also tends to be a pricey vacation, so be prepared to dig deep into research if you’re looking for a budget getaway.

Scuba diving is the main attraction here. Bonaire consistently ranks in the top ten places in the world to explore natural reefs, which are a few feet from the shore. Bird watching, lazing at the beaches or exploring Washington-Slagbaai National Park round out the activities to choose from.

Bonaire has only recently started registering on Caribbean travelers’ radar, so don’t expect glitzy shopping centers or high-rise hotels. If you’re looking for a low-cost getaway that involves lots of natural, outdoor activities, Bonaire is for you.

Curacao, the largest of the three, is the middle child in terms of development and price-point. It’s developed enough for the shopper in you, but rustic enough to satisfy your inner explorer. Get yourself out of the busy Willemstad and find a bike to explore the island. Just north of town, near Hato International Airport you’ll find the Hato Caves. Gouged out of limestone cliffs centuries ago as the island emerged from the sea, the caves are still forming – one drop at a time.

Because dancing is the soul of Avant Garde, dancing is what we will enjoy the most! On the two formal nights, we will enjoy a private dance party at the ships luxurious Sky Lounge. In addition, there will also be dancing before or after dinner every night. We also plan to offer several dance classes while onboard the Equinox. We have already made special arrangement for space every morning to hold 4 classes on the days we are at sea. With so many things to do, you might not know where to start. One thing is for sure: you’ll never want it to end.

Last, but not least, we believe the most special part of this cruise will be traveling together with our Ballroom Dancing Family. This will be a time to play, laugh and relax with friends who share a common bond. Let’s all get together and finish each perfect day with a refreshing cocktail, sumptuous sea food fare, and watch the sun melt into the blue hori-zon. Don’t wait any longer – plan your escape to Paradise with us NOW!
